‘Frosch’s Mountain King’ is a selected clone of Cypripedium ‘Sebastian’. The seedlings of the hybrid ‘Sebastian’ are somehow sensitive to wet summers, whereas our ‘Frosch’s Mountain King’ even coped with the extremely wet and cold summer of 2011 without any problems in the propagation beds.

This elegant clone captivates the eye by its striking flower coloration and shape as well as the slender growth of its shoots. Everything reminds strongly about the wild species Cypripedium montanum from North America. ‘Frosch’s Mountain King’ forms many flowers, often two per stem. He grows up to 60 cm (23 in) high and flowers in the second half of May.
